New energy features
1) Rich in resources, generally have renewable characteristics, and can be used by human beings in a sustainable manner; for example, the wind resources that can be developed and utilized on land are estimated to be 253GW, while only 0.57GW has been developed and utilized by 2003. Reach 4GW by 2020 to 20GW, while solar PV grid-connected and off-grid applications are expected to increase from 0.03GW by 1 to 2 GW by 2020.
2) The energy density is low, and the development and utilization requires a large space;
3) It does not contain carbon or contains very little carbon, and has little impact on the environment;
4) Wide distribution, conducive to small-scale decentralized utilization;
5) Intermittent supply, high volatility, unfavorable for continuous energy supply;
6) Except for hydropower, the development and utilization cost of renewable energy is higher than that of fossil energy.
