Development Status of New Energy Vehicles
Song Qiuling, deputy director of the Economic Construction Department of the Ministry of Finance, said at the 2018 China Automobile Industry Development International Forum held in early September 2018, "We believe that the development of China's new energy automobile industry is still at a critical stage of sailing against the current and failing to advance or retreat." First of all, the recent frequent spontaneous combustion accidents have undoubtedly poured cold water on the new energy vehicle industry. "As an emerging field of new energy vehicles, there are theoretical and technical gaps." Industry insiders said that according to incomplete statistics, in the first half of the year, electric vehicles had at least 10 combustion accidents that have been reported by the media.
At the same time, there are 487 electric vehicle manufacturers in China, and very few of them are qualified. Industry insiders believe that only 10% of current Chinese EV startups will survive in the next five years.
According to public data, in the first half of 2020, China exported 36,900 new energy vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 140.7%; the export value was 1.102 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 271.6%; the pure electric vehicle exported 21,500 units, an increase of 136%; the export value was 3.63 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 1122.9%.
